What is the difference with existing similar products?
The ErgoMot S Screen is mounted on the original oem screen of the Goldwing. You do NOT have to remove the original screen, NOR replace it with something odd. This keeps your Goldwing intact, with all the safety features of Honda included. Our secure mechanism allows deformation of the screen, which are inherently at higher speeds, increased, because the different bending on variable wind pressure is automatically corrected.
What is the best setting?
There are no fixed positions or settings, the display is continuously adjustable in height while driving. I myself put it on secondary roads 1 or 2 inch up, so I can overlook it . On motorways, I usually put it somewhere in the half, except in cold or strong winds, then it goes all up. When it rains, I leave the screen down so I can just look over it again.
How fast can I drive it?
All versions have been tested (on German highway) up to 200 km / hour.
What is the influence of weather?
All models are tested in all weather conditions, extreme heat, cold, rain and storm. The functionality remains intact in all circumstances.
Does the screen only reduce turbulence in high positions?
NO, even at the lowest position, you take advantage of a much better wind protection than a with standard window. There is in fact a second layer of air between two panes pressed, which, once above, pushes the turbulence, even on the lowest setting.
Does the ventilation slot in the standard window is still functional?
Yes. By the pressure created between the two panes there is still fresh air pushed through.
Can I still move the original window?
Yes. If you're fairly large, it may be useful to put the original window one or two clicks to set up. The cables are long enough to allow this. All the functionality of your original window is maintained.
How can I have my window cleaned?
The most frequently asked question! Of course you clean the front of the ErgoMot S and the rear window of your Goldwing screen, just like you did before. Amazing but true: there is very little dirt between the two panes. First of all, the windows do slide relative to each other, and so you clean in parts, first one half then the other half. Remaining inaccessible parts? Then stick a soft sponge around a wooden rod and slide it between the two windows. Simple, but not often necessary.
I'm pretty small, am I going to be able to look over, or do I always look through?
If you can already look over your screen now, it's the same thing with the EroMot S Screen. If you now look through your window at the lowest setting, then it is best to make your window shorter, or buy a shorter window to install. This windshield, is it thoroughly tested?
Yes. We drove five different prototypes more than 40,000 km on several Goldwings. The first prototypes were not stable enough, could not have high speed, making whistling noises, or were rattling. By continuing to refine, we developed over one year experiment the stable product.
It is easy to install?
Yes. With the included template to place on your original window, you know exactly where to drill. The harness is ready to connect. Installation is really simple, unless you have two left hands, then let your dealer do it! On Youtube you can see an enlightening film ...
Is it safe, using the ErgoMot S Screen?
The operation is done with the left hand. A simple switch allows the electric window up and down. If you let go the switch, it will stop the window and its instantly locked again until you press the switch again . The material of your window resembles the original material that Honda uses itself. All Honda built safety features will continue to apply (which is not comparable products where you first must remove the original window and replace it with something else). Please note: You use the window at your own risk! Never operate the window while performing maneuvers.
